This conference is about how “You Belong”, and is open to staff within every role.
Therefore, we want proposals from staff within every role as well. Our hope is that we will have lots of peer-to-peer sharing of best practices and innovative ideas. Additionally, we are committed to creating a conference which represents this diversity and generates thoughtful and reflective conversations about our work in an equitable and inclusive way. Please pay special attention to the questions in the call for proposals which are connected to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

an innovative idea you can sum up in 5-10 minutes. (We will have a separate process to collect submissions for Lightning Round Learning, which will open after the formal call for proposals process concludes. Those who submit for Lightning Round Learning will not receive a free registration, but will get a different prize).

While our conference is already affordable, you can maximize your value by taking advantage of our “Register Everyone” promotion.
Register everyone details:
- What it means to “register everyone”. If your site commits to “register everyone” you are agreeing to a) register all current HFA staff members, and to b) register new HFA staff members as they join your team between now and the conference.
- What you get:
- If all at your site register, we will give each registrant a $10 promo code / gift card to spend at the HFA online store. In the months leading up to the conference we will be adding merch items to the store, from small items at the $10 price point to larger items as well (t-shirts, etc).
- Discussion guides to help site leaders continue the learning after the conference concludes.
- Flexibility in substitutions and cancellations – We will also allow you to substitute and cancel the registrations for staff who leave your site at no cost between now and the conference.

What is a virtual conference?
A virtual conference is all the things you love about a conference:

Essentially – it’s just like an in-person conference – but you can connect to it right from the comfort of your home, office, or favorite coffee shop. All you need is a computer and internet connection to connect to the Virtual Conference.
Why would HFA host a virtual conference?
We LOVE seeing HFA folks from all around the country together in one place. But unfortunately, even with our 2019 conference where 800 HFA staff were in attendance – 800 people still only represents a fraction of our network. We also know that often the barriers to attend an in-person conference are a mix of funding and travel challenges. With a virtual conference, we hope to remove those barriers and create something accessible for every HFA staff person, no matter where you are.
