Home Visiting Forum

Healthy Families America has been actively collaborating with five other national home visitation programs via the Home Visit Form; HIPPY USA, Parents As Teachers, Parent Child Home Program, Early Head Start and the Nurse Family Partnership Program. The collaboration has centered around three main areas: training, research and public policy. See the following documents for more information about the individual programs and a joint statement on home visiting. For more information about the collaboration, contact Lisa Schreiber at lschreiber@preventchildabuse.org or see the Home Visit Forum website at: http://www.gse.harvard.edu/hfrp/projects/home-visit/.

Please also see the website from Parents Action of Children which highlights the collaborative work they are doing with the Home Visit Forum.

Collaborating with Other Home Visiting Programs

We have been co-existing with the David Olds model in Oklahoma for a couple of years now. The way we have handled it without duplication of services is a matter of timing. The way the Olds model operates here is families must be enrolled by the 28th week of pregnancy. We enroll the families who are 29 weeks to birth. We still get the high risk population. Incidentally, we have a memorandum of agreement with the Olds project in our county to refer to each other appropriate families based on their gestation. They also only serve first time parents so this opens up the field for consecutive births for us.
